yet, how many do?
it is not a thing
that is taught to you,

is it?

what is this attraction,
is it a primal thing
that rises to the surface
sometime in the Spring?

don’t you have the sense
that it must be more?

don’t you have this yearning
deep within your core?

don’t  you?

I’ve never really understood
what it is all about,
not endowed
with the wherewithal
to figure it all out.

I move on instinct
