a new wind  blows this summer’s day
I know not where it’s bound
under my breath your name I say
my heart begins to pound

it knows we are connected
as you go so do I
constraints of  life must be respected
and I don’t know why

alone I stand, my fingers claw
at things I cannot see
for I am never really sure
of my destiny

time passes, as it must
as every wave must reach the shore
and what was mighty turns to dust
and is gone for evermore
some bear witness to the tide
others turn their backs and hide
but either way it matters not
for in due time we are forgot
and the line that separates us
is oft times much more subtle
though it can inundate us
like a torrent in a puddle
yet the pull of eternity calls
